Dundrum Attractions

Dundrum and its surrounding region have a variety of natural and man-made attractions ranging from Dundrum Castle to the Mourne Mountain range.  Dundrum Bay is also home to a wide range of birdlife.

It is an easy walk from the centre of Dundrum to Dundrum Castle although there is a car park at the castle for those not wanting to walk too far.  The Dundrum Coastal Path can also be readily reached on foot from the village although it also has a car park right at the start.  Walking out of the village to the south you quickly reach the edges of Murlough Nature Reserve, which offers a variety of walks through the dunes and down to the beach.  There are a variety of parking options for the reserve if approaching by car.  The Mourne Mountains begin around 6 miles south of Dundrum on the edge of Newcastle.  There are a great number of walking options through the Mournes Mountains with a range of car parks throughout.

Close to Dundrum the Downpatrick area contains a number of attractions including Down Cathedral, Down County Museum, Inch Abbey and the Saint Patrick's Centre.
