Downpatrick

Downpatrick is the county town of County Down.  Downpatrick Cathedral was the burial place for St Patrick, St Columba and St Bridget.

Downpatrick and its surrounding areas are home to a number of interesting attractions including Downpatrick Railway, Downpatrick Racecourse, Down Cathedral, Down County Museum, Inch Abbey and the Saint Patrick's Centre. 

Downpatrick is certainly worth a visit on any trip to the Dundrum area.  To get to Downpatrick from Dundrum head north on the main road to Belfast.  When you reach the roundabout at Clough take the second exit, which is signposted Downpatrick.  This road takes you straight into the centre of Downpatrick.
